US judge wants American Fat Idol

A judge in the 'American Idol' competition has said that he would like to hold a 'Fat Idol' competition.

US record producer Randy Jackson made the statement after British judge Simon Cowell criticised overweight wannabes.

Jackson claimed that there was nothing wrong with porky pop stars adding that anyone could have a hit song.

He added that criticism of overweight people might be acceptable in Britain but that American audiences would not tolerate it.

In the UK 'Pop Idol' Cowell supported overweight singer Rik Waller who got through to the final ten but pulled out due to illness.
