According to reports, U2 will release a new single called 'Electric Storm' on 21 October.
The song is one of two new tracks set to appear on the band's second 'Best Of' collection which is set to hit the shops in November.
U2 recently wrote another new song, 'The Hands that Built America', for Martin Scorsese's upcoming film 'Gangs of New York' but it is unclear whether that track will appear on the Greatest Hits package.
A DVD of U2's promo videos will be released in December while a DVD of the band's second concert at Slane Castle in 2001 could also be out in time for Christmas.
