Eminem, Missy Elliott and the rock band POD are leading the nominations for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, with six nods each.
'Alive' by POD and Eminem's 'Without Me' face competition from The White Stripes' 'Fell In Love With A Girl', N'Sync's 'Gone', Linkin Park's 'In The End' and Nas' 'One Mic' in the Video of the Year category.
'Without Me' has also been shortlisted for Best Male Video, Best Rap Video, Editing, Direction and in the Viewer's Choice category.
POD's 'Alive' is also up for Best Group Video, Direction, Special Effects and Viewer's Choice, while their other recent hit, 'Youth Of A Nation', is shortlisted for Best Rock Video.
'One Minute Man' by Missy Elliott has been nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Direction, Art Direction, Cinematography, Editing and Special Effects.
Shakira's 'Whenever, Wherever' has received four nominations: Best Female Video, Best Dance Video, Best Pop Video and Best Cinematography.
Eminem and Pink will perform at this year's Video Music Awards ceremony in New York on 29 August.
