Ash looking for B-side band

Northern Irish band Ash have announced details of a competition to find a band or artist to record a cover version of one of their singles.

The winning entry will be released as a B-side on a future single.

Ash will release a singles compilation called 'Intergalactic Sonic 7s' on 6 September and they want people to cover one of the 19 tracks on the album:

The songs that can be covered are: 'Burn Baby Burn', 'Envy', 'Girl From Mars', 'Shining Light', 'A Life Less Ordinary', 'Goldfinger', 'Jesus Says', 'Oh Yeah', 'Jack Names The Planets', 'Sometimes', 'Kung Fu', 'Candy', 'Angel Interceptor', 'Uncle Pat', 'Wildsurf', 'Walking Barefoot', 'Petrol', 'There's A Star' and 'Numbskull'.

Entrants have to record onto DAT, CDR or minidisc and send them to Ash Covers Competition, PO Box 4226, London SW6 2XG. The closing date for entries is 27 August.
