Jacko wanted Men in Black II role

'Men in Black II' director Barry Sonnenfeld has revealed that Michael Jackson asked him for a role in the film.

Jackson was offered a cameo in the original movie along with Sylvester Stallone, Steven Speilberg and others, but turned it down because he didn’t want to appear as an alien.

Speaking at a press conference to promote the film, Sonnenfeld revealed that Jackson had contacted him asking for a role in the film.

Jackson said he had seen the original movie and had wept afterwards. Sonnenfeld told reporters he had to explain to the singer that the film was in fact a comedy.

'Men in Black II' is due for release in Ireland on 2 August.
