'American Beauty' director Sam Mendes' latest film has premiered in the US.
'Road to Perdition' is based on a comic strip novel written for DC comics and stars Tom Hanks, Jude Law and Paul Newman.
Set in Chicago during the Depression, the film tells the story of a hit man working for an Irish mobster, who seeks revenge after the deaths of his wife and son.
Hanks attended the New York premiere with his wife Rita Wilson. Jude Law and Paul Newman were also in attendance along with Mendes and his girlfriend actress Kate Winslet.
The film is due for release in Ireland on 30 August.
