Actor Todd Carty, who plays 'EastEnders' fruit and veg trader Mark Fowler, is to be axed from the show after 12 years.
Carty, who also played TV icon Tucker in 'Grange Hill', is set to leave the show early next year.
Commenting on his departure, the 38-year-old said that he would miss everyone involved with the show but was looking forward to trying new things and setting a date for his wedding.
'EastEnders' bosses said that Carty had made a fantastic contribution to the soap.
