'EastEnders' actress Kim Medcalf, who plays Sam Butcher, has been injured in a car crash in France.
The actress was en route to Italy with her boyfriend for a two-week holiday when the accident happened.
Medcalf suffered multiple injuries including a broken leg, hand and breast bone.
This is the second incident to affect the soap recently as the actress Michelle Ryan - who plays Zoe Slater - went on indefinite sick leave.
The 18-year-old is understood to be suffering from nervous exhaustion.
