Jennifer Lopez is to co-star and produce a new film based on the life of salsa legend Hector Lavoe.
Variety reports that singer Marc Anthony is in talks about the role of Lavoe, who struggled with drug addiction and depression and died at the age of 43.
Lopez will play Lavoe's wife, Nilda Roman Perez.
If Anthony signs up for the role, it will be the second time he and Lopez have worked together: they sang a duet on the track 'No Me Ames' from Lopez's debut album, 'On the Six'.
