Dee Dee Ramone has been found dead in his Hollywood home after an apparent drug overdose.
Co-founder of influential 70s punk band The Ramones, Dee Dee Ramone was 50 years old.
His death comes 14 months after the band's lead singer, Joey Ramone, died of lymphoma.
The New York band kick-started the punk rock revolution a year before British rivals such as the Sex Pistols and the Clash.
Earlier this year, Spin magazine decreed The Ramones to be the second greatest band of all time, behind the Beatles.
The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 11 weeks ago.
