Metallica play secret club show

Monsters of Rock Metallica returned to the stage with a secret gig at a San Francisco club on Tuesday.

NME.COM reports that the band were billed at Club Kimo's as Spun and played a set consisting of four Ramones covers, Metallica favourites like 'No Remorse' and 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' and one new, untitled song.

Producer Bob Rock, who is working on the forthcoming Metallica album, played bass at the gig and will also handle four string duties on the new record.
