US filmmaker Woody Allen has won a prestigious Prince of Asturias award in Spain.
He is only the second American to win the $47,000 award with the jury commending him for his "great creative talent".
The Prince of Asturias awards are given annually in eight categories including arts, humanities, sports and science.
A spokesperson said that Allen was delighted with the award and would accept it at a ceremony in Oviedo this October.
