Woody Allen has told a New York court that he was reluctant to press a former producer for money because she was a trusted friend.
The writer/director/actor is suing Jean Doumanian, her boyfriend and their production companies for more than $10 million he believes they owe him for over eight movies they made together.
"I felt the money was safe," Allen said in court. "These are very, very good friends of mine."
Allen said that two years ago, suing Doumanian was "unthinkable."
