Concert promoters MCD have confirmed that Slane 2002 will be headlined by the Stereophonics.
The Welsh band were voted Best International Artists at this year's Meteor Irish Music Awards.
Speaking at the official launch today, Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones stated: "I think festival-wise, it's one of the biggest deals around and we're absolutely thrilled to be doing it."
The concert will take place on Saturday 24 August.
Support acts announced so far are Nickelback, Doves, Counting Crows and Irish band, The Revs.
Tickets, priced €49.50, will be on sale from all Ticketmaster outlets on Saturday 15 June 15.
