Ash, U2 win but Kylie triumphs at Ivors

Prizes have gone to U2 and Northern Ireland band Ash at this year's Ivor Novello Awards but Aussie pop-star Kylie Minogue has triumphed with a hat-trick of prizes.

Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' took the Ivors Dance Award, the Most Performed Work award and International Hit of the Year prize.

U2's 'Walk On' won Best Song Musically and Lyrically, while Northern Irish band Ash took the Best Contemporary Song for 'Shining Light'.

The UK's Dido won Songwriter of the Year, while Hear'Say took Best-Selling UK Single for their debut 'Pure And Simple'.

Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall won the prize for Outstanding Song Collection.

Best Original Film Score went to Harry Gregson-Williams and John Powell for the Oscar-winning animated movie 'Shrek'.

Veteran singer-songwriter Kate Bush was presented with an award for her outstanding contribution to British music, while Sting took the international achievement award.
