Fry to direct Bright Young Things

Actor, comedian and bestselling author Stephen Fry is to make his feature film directing debut with the FilmFour production of 'Bright Young Things'.

Based on the modern classic novel 'Vile Bodies' by Evelyn Waugh, the film is a glamorous, comic look at the hedonistic lives of a group of 'IT' girls and boys at the centre of the Mayfair social scene in 1930's London.

Judi Dench and Peter O'Toole have already been cast for roles in the film, with the screenplay written by Fry.

Fry's television credits include 'Blackadder', 'Jeeves and Wooster' and 'A Bit of Hugh and Laurie', his film appearances include 'Gosford Park' and 'Thunderpants' and he has written two novels.

Other upcoming FilmFour titles include 'The Actors', which was shot in Ireland, directed by Irish playwright Conor McPherson and starring Michael Caine and Irish comedian Dylan Moran.
