Mariah signs new record deal

Diva Mariah Carey has signed a new record deal, reported to be worth $20m.

The deal with Universal Music Group, which gives Carey her own record label, is believed to be for three albums with an option for a fourth.

Carey parted ways with EMI at the start of the year after her first album for the label, 'Glitter', sold only 2m copies.

The singer is reported to be in the studio at present making her first record as part of the new deal.
