Speculation is mounting in the US that the Rolling Stones will announce a 40th anniversary tour next week.
Publicists in New York yesterday targeted select media asking them to keep May 7 open for a lunchtime press conference with the ageing rockers.
Both Mick Jagger and Ron Wood had said late last year that 2002 would be a suitable year to hit the road again as it was 40 years on from when they first performed together.
It is believed the new tour would start some time in October.
