Cork-born actress Fiona Shaw has dedicated her honorary CBE to Ireland and the Irish people. Shaw received the award for her "tremendous contribution to British drama".
She described the award as "a wonderful sign of the best fusion of both countries". The CBE had to be honorary because Shaw is not a citizen of the UK.
The 43-year-old actress has won three Olivier awards. She has worked in theatre, film and television and most recently appeared on the big screen as Aunt Petunia in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'.
