The US Government has confirmed the details of Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill's trip to Africa where he will be accompanied by U2's Bono.
U2's website reports that the trip in late May will include visits to South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana and Uganda.
The site says that Bono's reason for accompanying Mr O'Neill is to show how the money which comes from the cancellation of Third World debt is used to fight AIDS and poverty in Africa.
The U2 singer will meet African leaders and visit communities with the Treasury Secretary.
The trip comes before June's meeting of leaders of the G8 group of nations in Canada, where Africa will be high on their agenda.
