Stoppard to pen Indiana Jones 4?

Trade daily Variety has reported that acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Tom Stoppard will write the long-awaited fourth instalment in the Indiana Jones franchise.

Stoppard is reported to have got involved with the project after he did some script work on Harrison Ford’s latest film ‘K-19’.

His plays include ‘Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead’ and ‘The Real Thing’, while he has also penned the scripts for a number of movies, including Terry Gilliam’s ‘Brazil’ and the Oscar-winning ‘Shakespeare In Love’.

Indiana Jones 4 is due to go into production in 2004.
