Queen backs Beatles for Golden Jubilee

In a departure from her usually restrained public appearances, Britain's Queen Elizabeth is to launch a nationwide singalong to the Beatles' hit 'All You Need is Love' as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Musicians in 21 locations throughout the UK will take their cue from the Queen, though it's unlikely she will begin the singing herself.

After the launch, the song will be picked up from BBC broadcasts by musicians who will join the singing in a relay fashion.

Later in the day, ex-Beatle Paul McCartney will sing the song at a Buckingham Palace concert to be beamed worldwide.

He will be joined by Eric Clapton, Tom Jones, Aretha Franklin, Brian Wilson, S Club 7 and 'Pop Idol' winner, Will Young.
