Trophy haul for UCD at media awards

UCD alumni have won in eight categories at the O2 Student Media Awards in Dublin.

The UCD Observer was named Student Newspaper of the Year and Publication of the Year.

The paper's Daniel McConnell was named Editor of the Year and Enda Curran won the News Reporter award.

The Belfield students' second paper, the Tribune, won Most Improved Publication, while UCD was named Media College of the Year.

Cork Campus Radio won the Radio award for the second year in a row and the University of Limerick took the Best Website award.

There were three gongs for DCU, while Griffith College took a Photography award.

Film awards went to students from Ballyfermot and Dun Laoghaire.
