Dudley Moore dies aged 66

Actor and comedian Dudley Moore has died at his home in New Jersey aged 66.

Moore had been suffering for many years with a degenerative disease known as sapranuclear palsy. He died from pneumonia, which was a complication of his condition.

The comic became famous in the 1960s for his partnership with the late Peter Cook.

He later went on to achieve stardom on the silver screen in the romantic comedies '10', with Bo Derek, in 1979, and 'Arthur', which netted him a Best Actor Oscar nomination, in 1981.

Moore received a CBE at Buckingham Palace last November.
