Michael Stipe and Mike Mills have appeared in Isleworth Crown Court, London to testify at bandmate Peter Buck's trail for alleged air-rage.
Stipe, the REM vocalist, dismissed the allegations as 'absurd', describing Buck as "someone who is considerate…, gentle and polite".
Bass player Mills, REM's manager Bertis Downs and Buck's wife, Stephanie, also appeared as character witnesses.
The trial was adjourned until Wednesday 3 April.
