Britney Spears was hissed and booed at the UK première of her debut film 'Crossroads' in London last night.
An estimated 3,000 fans waited for hours in Leicester Square, but the American pop princess failed to go on a walkabout or sign autographs.
Representatives for Spears said she did not meet fans due to safety fears.
Speaking to journalists earlier, Spears gave the strongest indication yet that she has indeed split up with Nsync star Justin.
Asked if she was currently in an intense relationship, she replied, "No, I would not say I am in an intense relationship with anyone".
'Crossroads' is released in Ireland on Friday 29 March.
