Hat-trick for Moulin Rouge in London

Moulin Rouge has topped the prize list at this year's London Film Critics Circle awards ceremony.

The film picked up three awards last night, including Film of the Year and Best British Actor for Scot Ewan McGregor; McGregor's Australian co-star, Nicole Kidman, was named Actress of the Year.

Judi Dench was awarded the Best British Actress prize for 'Iris', while Helen Mirren was named Best British Actress in a Supporting Role for her performances in 'Gosford Park' and 'Last Orders'.

'Gosford Park' was also named British Film of the Year, with 'Amelie' from France taking the prize for Foreign Film of the Year.

Helen Fielding, Richard Curtis and Andrew Davies were named British Screenwriters of the Year award for 'Bridget Jones' Diary'.

Irish actor Colin Farrell was named Best British newcomer for his role in 'Tigerland'.
