Tom Cruise and director Steven Spielberg are to work together on a new war movie called 'Ghost Soldiers'.
The film will be based on the book by Hampton Sides and is set in the Philippines at the end of the Second World War.
US forces hear that Japanese troops are to execute prisoners of war and launch a rescue mission to save them.
There are no details at present on what role Cruise will play.
The actor, who will also produce 'Ghost Soldiers', has recently completed work on Steven Spielberg's upcoming film, 'Minority Report'.
Cruise's latest film, 'Vanilla Sky' is released in Ireland today.
