Mariah Carey is bouncing back for a second bid for cinema success after her first film, 'Glitter', was a box office flop.
Carey is to co-star with Mira Sovino in a film called 'Wise Girls'. She is currently promoting the film at the Sundance Festival in the US.
The singer described herself as "a fighter" and said she would be ignoring the critics' verdicts. "You can always wrap fish in it," she said.
'Glitter', which was partially based on Carey's own life, was released last November and followed hot on the heels of her new album, also called 'Glitter'.
Carey suffered an emotional breakdown immediately prior to the release of the film and checked into a clinic to recover.
'Wise Girls' does not yet have an Irish release date.
