Spanish writer Camilo Jose Cela has died, aged 85.
Hospital sources say the writer died in Madrid from respiratory and coronary failure.
Winner of the 1989 Nobel Prize for literature, Cela's straightforward style of writing was called tremendismo.
His best known novels are 'The Family of Pascual Duarte' and 'The Hive', both of which were adapted into films.
