Paul McCartney is to perform at a pre-game show at this year's American football Super Bowl.
The ex-Beatle is to sing in a special concert dedicated to the heroism of the emergency workers involved in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks in New York.
The event will take place at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans on February 3, 2002.
In a statement, McCartney said 'I am honoured to add my voice to the message of tribute that this year's Super Bowl will carry."
