Five members of the band formed on the RTÉ Television series Popstars were unveiled last night at a party in Dublin City Centre.
Kyle Anderson, Liam McKenna, Emma O'Driscoll, Andy Orr and Sinead Sheppard appeared before the nation's media for the first time without Nadine Coyle, who was dropped from the band after it emerged that she was only 16-years-old.
Nadine's true age was discovered shortly after the band moved into their secret location; Popstar's rules state that members must be over 18.
Speaking at Dublin's Gravity Bar, Music Manager Louis Walsh announced that the band will be called '6' and predicted that they "will without a doubt be the next major act to come out of Ireland".
Kyle is a 19-year-old former fashion student from Belfast, Liam is a 20-year-old former barman from Tyrone; Emma, 19, is a former student and Bunratty singer from Limerick, Andy is A 21 year old former IT student from Dublin and Sinead is a 19-year-old former PR student and shop assistant from Cork.
The 6th member will be revealed on the show next Sunday on RTÉ 1.
