Tyler learned Elvish for Rings role

Liv Tyler, who plays the elf Arwen in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring', has spoken of her time leaning to speak Elvish.

The actress said she spent much of her time actually learning to speak the language invented by author JRR Tolkien.

While the other actors in the film learned horse riding and fighting techniques, Tyler spent time with a dialect coach.

"At first it was difficult because it wasn't familiar to me," she said. "It took some time, and then it became really kind of easy."

The film has taken more than £90 million worldwide in just five days at the box office.
