An Italian researcher has claimed to have found the death certificate of the artist Caravaggio.
Giuseppe La Fauci says the alleged death certificate shows that Caravaggio died in hospital in 1610.
There have been many theories about Caravaggio’s death, with some scholars believing he was assassinated for religious reasons, and others that he died having suffered from malaria.
