Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman are facing competition for the Christmas number one slot from little known crooner Gordon Haskell.
Williams and Kidman had been expected to outsell all comers with their ‘Something Stupid’ duet, but 55-year-old Haskell’s ‘How Wonderful You Are’ has emerged as the dark horse for the seasonal top slot.
‘How Wonderful You Are’ is Haskell’s first single in more than thirty years.
His manager Ian Brown told Reuters: “The response has been unbelievable. Gordon has been quietly making great music since the 1960s.”
