The most expensive movie budget in history has been agreed at about $200m for Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator 3 to be released in 2003.
The previous greenlit record was $135m (£95m) for Pearl Harbor.
'Greenlit' refers to a producer's agreement to an initial budget, which may rise or fall. Work is due to start on the film in April.
Recouping of the giant budget is likely to be helped by boxed video sets of the trilogy.
