Besson plans Léon sequel

French director Luc Besson has plans to direct a sequel to his action classic Léon – but only if Nathalie Portman agrees to star.

Portman made her movie debut in the 1994 film as Mathilda, a young girl who is befriended by the titular character, played by Jean Reno.

Contract killer Léon died at the end of the first film and Besson's sequel would follow an adult Mathilda as she too becomes a gun for hire.
