Magician David Blaine's next stunt will be to stay on top of a 100ft pole for two days and nights.
There will be no safety net and at the end he will jump to the ground with only cardboard boxes to break his fall.
Blaine's pole feat will begin next May on New York's Fifth Avenue.
He told British press: "I have already trained myself to sleep standing up but I will not risk sleeping on top of a pole.
"For me the excitement is about endurance and challenge. I love to push the boundaries. I have been training in the desert and recently broke two ribs jumping onto the cardboard boxes. That's all there will be between me and death - a bunch of empty cardboard boxes. But I'll live to tell the tale."
Last year he survived in a block of ice for nearly three days.
