Divine Comedy to split after tour

The Divine Comedy are to split after they complete their current European dates.

Singer Neil Hannon will remain signed to Parlophone and is reported to be working on a new record for release next year.

A spokesperson said, "The band are splitting but in essence the Divine Comedy has always been Neil Hannon." Adding, "The band have been working for six years with this line-up so it's very sad."

The Divine Comedy's UK and Irish leg of their current European tour begins at Glasgow Barrowlands on October 23.
