Original Beatles CVs to be published

Hand-written CVs of the original Beatles line-up are to be published along with a double CD to mark the 40th anniversary of the first Beatles recording in Hamburg on October 23, 1961.

The CVs, which were written for German orchestra head Bert Kaempfert, were found in a cellar in Hamburg.

Kaempfert signed John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Pete Best as The Beat Brothers to his record company in 1961 after they had failed to get a contract in the UK.

Kaempfert died 20 years ago; the CVs, thought to be worth around £8,000, were found in the cellar of his house.
