English indie band Elastica have split up.
Singer/guitarist Justine Frischmann told the NME website that she was relieved and feeling much happier following the decision.
She added that both an album of radio sessions and a farewell single would be released and that she would be pursuing other musical projects.
Elastica's self-titled debut album went to the top of the charts in March 1995 but the follow-up 'The Menace' was only released last year and failed to make any impact.
