U2 sell out Scottish gigs

Promoters have confirmed that U2's two gigs in Scotland as part of the band's Elevation Tour 2001 have sold out.

Tickets for the shows at Glasgow's SECC on Monday, 27 August and Tuesday 28 went on sale at midday today.

Band manager Paul McGuinness told the official U2 website, "We are delighted that the tour will be coming to Glasgow. U2 love playing in Scotland – the audiences there are legendary."

Glasgow's Cosmic Rough Riders will appear as special guests.
