Coronation Street's Deirdre Rachid is to ditch her famous large-framed glasses for a set of trendy spectacles.
A spokeswoman for the soap said today that Deirdre, played by Anne Kirkbride is to be revamped and fans will have the chance to vote for which type of glasses she will wear.
The spokeswoman remained tight-lipped about why Deirdre has to begin searching for a new set of spectacles, but she said the storyline centres around shop manager and heart-throb Dev.
