Bob Hewson, the father of U2 singer, Bono, has died following a long illness.
Mr Hewson, who was in his mid 70s, had been ill with cancer for some time.
U2's publicists have confirmed that the band's concert at Slane Castle will go ahead this weekend, as will a concert scheduled for Earl's Court in London this evening.
