Clinton signs $12m book deal

Former US President Bill Clinton has signed an agreement for the publication of his memoirs.

No figure has been disclosed, but media reports say the former president is expected to be paid at least $12million for the book.

It is not clear whether there will be any mention of his affair with Monica Lewinsky or of his impeachment by the House of Representatives.

The publishers say the book will be out in 2003 and that the memoirs would be "a thorough and candid" telling of his life, with a primary focus on the White House years.
