Mariah Carey has revealed that she had money troubles before signing her new £60 million album deal.
The singer sold 170 million records worldwide in ten years, but was handing half her earnings to her producer after signing her first deal at the age of 17.
Mariah's new deal with Virgin is said to pay her £20 million per album.
She said, "I was in financial trouble. I made some serious mistakes when I was young."
