Bob Dylan's first album of new material in four years will hit the shops on September 11 this year.
The announcement that the guitar legend has recorded 12 new songs with his touring band comes amid a career renaissance for Dylan.
His last album won three Grammys including best album, and his contribution to the film 'Wonder Boys' soundtrack earned him an Oscar and Golden Globe.
Asked what the new material was like, Dylan enigmatically said: "I think of it as a greatest hits album, Volume 1 or Volume 2. Without the hits; not yet, anyway."
