Hendrix belongings up for auction

A collection of personal items belonging to the late guitarist Jimi Hendrix are to be auctioned on Thursday to raise money for a drug charity.

The memorabilia sale has been organized by Hendrix's girlfriend of three years Kathy Etchingham, who believes more information about drugs would have saved Hendrix's life.

Items for sale include a stars and stripe shirt worn on stage at the Marquee Club.

Hendrix died of a drugs overdose in 1970 at the age of 27.
