George Martin has said Oasis were wrong to model themselves on The Beatles, adding that Noel and Liam Gallagher's band do not measure up to the Fab Four.
Speaking as he promoted a new George Martin boxed set, the former Beatles producer said "They made a big mistake hitching their wagon to The Beatles so much. They are not The Beatles".
He also complained that image was now too important in the music industry, saying "People don't listen with their ears anymore, everything is visual.'
