MacLeod to receive IMPAC prize on Bloomsday

Canadian author Alistair MacLeod, winner of The International IMPAC

Dublin Literary Award 2001, will be presented with his award at a ceremony in Dublin Castle on Saturday June 16th.

He will also receive a cheque for £100,000 and a Waterford Crystal trophy presented by An Tanaiste Mary Harney, Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment.

In addition to attending the Award presentation dinner, Alistair MacLeod will attend a reception given by The President, Mary MacAleese today and perform a reading of his work at the Gate Theatre as part of the Dublin Writers Festival on Sunday 17th June.

The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award is the world's richest literary prize for a single work of fiction published in English.
